About the Role
As a member of Fiserv’s Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CSIRT), the Cybersecurity SOC Analyst will support the investigation and response of cybersecurity events across the organization’s global environment. The role involves identifying, analyzing, and responding to potential security incidents while working closely with experienced cybersecurity professionals.
The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, incident response procedures, threat analysis, and security monitoring techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and triage security alerts generated by enterprise security tools.
- Investigate suspicious activities across endpoints, networks, email systems, cloud platforms, and applications.
- Analyze security events using SIEM/SOAR platforms and other monitoring tools.
- Review logs from EDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, email security solutions, and proxy systems.
- Determine the severity, impact, and response actions for identified threats.
- Document investigations, findings, and actions taken in the case management system.
- Escalate confirmed incidents to Tier-2 incident handlers as required.
- Participate in shift handovers and communicate ongoing investigations effectively.
- Identify recurring false positives and contribute to improving security processes, alert quality, and operational efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, security monitoring, networking, IT operations, or related technology environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work in a 24×7 operational environment, including weekends and holidays if required.
- Basic understanding of network protocols, operating systems, enterprise architecture, and security log sources.
- Knowledge of incident response methodologies, threat indicators, and common cyberattack techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong investigative and critical-thinking abilities to identify and analyze potential security incidents.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following qualifications will have an added advantage:
- Industry certifications such as:
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA CySA+
- CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
- GCIH (GIAC Certified Incident Handler)
- Experience with scripting or programming languages for automation and analysis.
- Hands-on exposure to SIEM/SOAR platforms, EDR solutions, IDS/IPS, email security tools, firewalls, proxy systems, and case management platforms.
